Guinean Opposition threatens to resume political demonstrations.


The Republican opposition met in plenary on at the headquarters of the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea (U F D G). The leaders discussed the delay in implementing the agreement of 12 October and the wishes of a third term for President Alpha Condé.

“We are going to engage in demonstrations on public squares and streets after the month of Ramadan,” said the Honorable Aboubacar Sylla, spokesman for the Republican opposition.

These opponents also promise to send letters to the Secretary General of the United Nations, the African Union, ECOWAS, the OIF and all the technical and financial partners. “Because simply the government and the President of the Republic have shown their fierce will to trample these agreements, not to respect their commitments,” he said.

Regarding a possible third term for Alpha Condé, the opposition spokesman hammered: “The Republican opposition reiterates its fierce desire to oppose systematically any attempt to seek a third mandate by the President of the Republic. We will use all means to ensure that this nightmarish situation does not reach Guinea. ”

talking about the country’s socioeconomic situation, the Republican opposition deplored the fact that, according to it, OTC markets continue rather than the scarce resources available to us to meet the basic needs of the population .
