Guinean Students threat to organize a peaciful protesting march on Monday 20th February 2017.

Plunged into an unprecedented crisis in the education sector following the strike launched by teachers in early February, Guinea could experience further violence on Monday if a solution is not found by then.
Students and pupils intend to protest on Monday, February 20th , 2017 against the closure of schools and universities in the country, if a solution to the crisis is not found. They invite parents to join their movement.
“If schools are not opened on Monday, the coalition of pupils and students in Guinea calls on students, students and parents … to go out for a peaceful march all over the national territory,” he calls it. A declaration.
These threats come as negotiations between the government and the teachers’ union are still blocked after several rounds of talks. Each camp stands on its position, much to the dismay of the training of Guinean students.
Violence erupted last Monday in the Guinean capital. Hundreds of students protesting against the absence of teachers (on strike) in schools, took the streets of Conakry by erecting barricades and burning tires on the roadway. The violence forced the government to close schools until further notice.
