Guinean President Alpha Condé, who has just been elected without surprise as head of the African Union (AU), unveiled his priorities during his one-year term. The election of Alpha Condé was expected on Monday 30 January 2017 on the sidelines of the opening of the 28th African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in the presence of some 40 heads of state and government . A charge he says willingly accept in all humility.

By subscribing unanimously to the members of the African Union for the confidence placed in my country by ECOWAS, you in turn honor Guinea and, above all, remind you if necessary that Africa is one and indivisible and that its leaders Are able to speak with one voice, “added the Head of State of Guinea to his peers.
Alpha Condé wished to have the support of his peers to carry out the mission entrusted to him to make the AU a strong and credible institution. “I know that I can count on you throughout my mandate and wish to have the support of all of you in our common ambition to make the African Union a strong and credible institution. In the same way, I am convinced that, more united, we will be stronger and we will make ourselves heard more from the rest of the world, “he said.
