The Democratic Republic of Congo achieved an excellent result by winning (2-1) in Guinea in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. However, the Guineans of the sSli had given hope to the supporters with a first period controlled and an irreproachable collective game that allowed the syli to obtain a penalty. So, in the 26th minute Guinea opened the scoring on a penalty converted by a goal by Idrissa Sylla (26th minute)
Back from the locker room, the Guinean players were no longer the same! With a fighting spirit, the leopards returned to the score in the 54th minute but the Congolese players were totally relaunched in the game in two minutes at the beginning of the second period. Neeskens Kebano, a player trained at PSG in Fulham now, scored Congo’s first goal (in the54th minute) and Everton winger Yannick Bolasie sored the second two minutes later (in the 56th minute).
The Democratic Republic of Congo takes the lead of Group A ahead of Tunisia. Both teams have six points but the Leopards have a better goal difference. Guinean players are still looking for their first point, just like Libya. Therefore, Guinea and Libya are the last two teams of the group with zero point!
To finish with, the Guinean defeat that raises questions about the incompetence of the Guinean local coach Lappé Bangoura who has not won any victory since his tenure as coach of the national Syli of Guinea.
